Key Terms of Public History, a review

Key Terms of Public History is the second volume in the series Public History in European Perspectives, edited by Thomas Cauvin, Karin Priem, and Sandra Camarda at the Luxembourg Centre for Digital and Public History (C2DH), with the publisher De Gruyter Oldenbourg. This book is an English translation of a 2021 Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht book, “Schlüsselbegriffe der Public History.” The aim of the authors was to engage a German-speaking perspective on the discipline with international Public History practitioners.

Public History (of Education) and Applied History Manifestos’ 2011-2023

Public History and its sub-field of public History of education are applied disciplines in and for the present. However, good practices and ethical methods are sometimes summarized when producing disciplinary manifestos. This essay will engage with different history manifestos and their importance in describing the hermeneutic of Public and Applied History in the 21st century and how these manifestos are connected to the Public History of Education
